This is a very nice, mostly-matching G98/40 produced by Hungary in 1943. Rifle has a hardwood stock that retains very crisp, clear markings. It has never been sanded or altered. The bolt and floorplate do not match the rest of the rifle, but the bolt matches itself in entirety. For some reason, a lot of the G98/40's you see have a mismatched floorplate. The bore is very nice with just a tiny bit of frost in the rear half. Strong rifling throughout. I've shot this rifle on many occasions and it is a very accurate, reliable gun with a smooth action. If you're looking for a good, solid 98/40 for the collection, this is just the ticket for you.
